This time the word sins is plural – all your many sins. Some people say that verse means the only sin that matters is whether you believe in Christ or not, but that is to misunderstand the passage. The meaning is – ‘If ye believe not that I am he’, you have no hope. You shall die in your sins, all your sins, including your rejection of Christ. But all of them. Unbelief in Christ renders any forgiveness from God impossible – this is the great, and the central issue.
