There are many reasons why I would judge you, the chief priests, the scribes, the Pharisees; for their moral sin, for their hypocrisy, for their unbelief, for their blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, in seeing miracles close up and yet denying that they ever happened, in their murderous schemes.‘But he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.’ It is as though Christ is here saying, I have many things to charge you with, but I have greater things to do because my message is to be made clear to the whole world. This is not just about you, it is about the whole world, Jews and Gentiles. You will be held to account because, whatever Christ says is from the Father, from the triune Godhead.
