He didn’t at this stage realise he was Christ, the Son of God, the One sent as the Messiah to redeem men and women; ‘A man that is called Jesus’ (he had heard his familiar personal name), ‘made clay and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went’ – well more, he was led, I imagine – ‘and washed, and I received sight.’ Well, they said, where is he? He didn’t know. He had come back to his home, he’d looked around, but he didn’t know where Jesus was. How would he have recognized him? Probably he would have expected that he would be surrounded by disciples, the centre of attention and doing great and wonderful things. Well, he didn’t know where he had gone.
