Here we see Christ’s new priesthood, because you can see that the priesthood is going to come to an end. It is going to be replaced with the Jewish-Gentile Christian church, the priesthood of all believers. The Temple priesthood would come to an end. In AD70, the judgement of God would finally close it and fall upon it, but you can see that they have lost their authority even now, and you can see a wonderful transition here from the priests to the formerly blind man and other believers right before your eyes.The man was unafraid. He had got wind of the fact that they would be trying him, that they may condemn him, but he was unafraid. He couldn’t say anything but this because his soul was so full of the help he had received.
