Our God overlooks nothing; he forgets nothing. At the time that we give to the needy, it is as though he sets aside a reward for us. A token amount of that reward may be given in this life, but the bulk of it is reserved for the resurrection. The resurrection will bring about the transformation of our bodies, and we will be aware that God has dispensed with our mortality. The future awaits us without the limiting effect of death which is all we have known up to that point. But accompanying our eternal future will be the reward of those past deeds carried out when we were still mortal. They will live on into the eternal future with us. We will be among the just, and all of the just will have earthly recompenses transferred into eternity. We gave gifts in earthly currency, but what we receive back will be in heavenly currency. That is inflation proof!
