All three parables in this chapter are directed to the scribes and Pharisees. In spite of their hostility, Christ still deals compassionately with them, albeit he must warn them solemnly.
Do you know anything about this experience? Have you ever had that light shine upon you? Do you know what it is for God to come looking for you? Do you know what it is to be swept, as it were, by God so that your prejudice is broken down, and you begin to feel your need? Do you know what it is to be picked up by the Lord and washed and cleansed and made valuable and possessed by him and made a true believer? Begin to seek him. Cease to be valueless, trampled on by this world with a hopeless destiny, and come to the Lord and believe in him and ask him to pardon and forgive you and make you clean and new.
