Matthew 11:11-12 has a similar saying of the Lord, though even more strongly expressed. This is about the struggle to find God.
The kingdom of heaven suffers violence because conversion is rather like being in an aircraft crash landing. It makes it onto the ground. The undercarriage collapses completely. The cabin fills with smoke. The doors fly open, and the chutes go down to the ground. The cabin staff begin to shout at the tops of their voices, ‘Leave, leave, out, out.’ You've only got seconds to get out. You've got to leave everything behind. Nothing matters except getting out. And it's rather like that when you come to Christ. You cannot keep any part of your old life, any of your sins. You come to Christ, and you repent of your sin. You give your life to him to be remade entirely. There is something violent about all this. Conversion is a crisis experience.
