Malachi 1:9

With such sin on your hands as this, says Malachi, do you think you can appeal to God’s face and he will show favour to you? That is not going to happen. God does not just dole out blessing to anyone who asks, regardless of how they live and how they treat him. He is not blind to the way we behave.
Application
You are a believer. You seek to honour the Lord, and live for him, and yet you have cut your devotions, and you have cut out your Christian duties because you were too busy or too tired, and you are treating God lightly, and have skipped meetings you could have attended, left them out, and then you say, ‘I have a great need. I am going to pray to my God.’ Yes, but he won't hear you, because you are not honouring the rules. You are not living as you should live, and being faithful to him. So it's a warning to us all: to be faithful and careful if we want our prayers answered, and ongoing communion with God, and no withholding of his blessing.
