The connection between the ascension of the Lord and his working to confirm the word of the disciples through the promised signs is obvious. He was received up into heaven as one who had completed the commission given him by the Father.
Some Christians say to themselves, ‘This gospel of repentance and remission of sins; it's too hard. You can't just preach that; it's much too difficult. People will reject us; nobody will listen to us. Why don’t we change our message?’ Yes, Bible believers say this. But no, we stick to the task we have been given. We do not alter the Lord’s message. We take courage from his promises. We know that he sees us and is with us, and at the right time when all the elect have been gathered in, he will come again to take us to himself.
