The same with us. There are some things, some sins that are so bad that something terrible has to happen if a Christian commits them, even perhaps exclusion from the church. But it is amazing how gentle the Lord is with us most of the time. We are reproved by the word of God, by some faithful Christian friend, and by the help of God we repent and we pray and we advance. The patience of Christ and of the church is with all his people, and you get a picture of it in the training of the disciples.
