Oh, how sad. Now they have got Mary in on this.
Are you a half-believer? That is why you don’t come and repent and yield your life, because you are only a half-believer. But maybe you are a Christian and you have repented of your sin and you can say, ‘I did that 30 years ago, 20 years ago. I walk with him, I know him, I love him, he saved me.’ But sometimes you behave like a half-believer. Things happen in life and you become much more deeply anxious than you should be. Of course, we are not immune as Christians from fear and apprehension, but sometimes Christians go to pieces, Christians seem to lose their trust. Christians do not say in the face of circumstances, ‘I trust the Saviour. I trust in him.’ Are you facing surgery, turmoil, difficulty, things that would depress you? Are you starting to act as a half-believer? Not believing in the providence of God, that he allows all things, that he will see you through? It is a strange thing, in the midst of all the miracles and the wonders, there are half-believers. Get him out of this situation, he doesn’t know what he is into. ‘Trust him,’ that is the message of these events. They are all here for a purpose, no matter what. Are you an unbeliever? You must trust him and obey him and repent. Are you a believer? You must trust him and tell him so and lay down your fears and your anxieties and trust him. The chapter is about total trust or faith in Jesus Christ.
