Jesus went with him – Mark implies that it is some distance to the house, although not far from Capernaum. The size of the crowd is commented on in the other Gospels. They stay with him; they want to witness this miracle. They are so densely packed that Mark and Luke say they thronged Christ. The Greek is ‘pressed together’; they impeded his way, and were evidently touching him so that he was having to work his way through the people.
