On returning to the house (Peter’s own house or his rented house) where Christ had remained, the answer he has given is still resounding in his ears. Christ who reads the disciples’ hearts also knows what is on Peter’s mind without being informed.
How wonderful that we see in Scripture the Son of God dealing with a single one of his disciples and gently sorting out his misunderstandings. Thus now, from the right hand of God, he deals with all his people with the same level of attention. His care of us is not diluted because there are so many believers to be trained all at once. This interaction with Peter is a picture of the great care with which he deals with all of us.
