The man took his journey. This of course represents the absence of Christ from the world, and man now has a great measure of licence. His true character will come out according to what he does with the gospel.
Application
Questions
Why does God distribute the talents? If the talents represent different light, then God is seeing to it that we have light and knowledge in proportion to our ability to understand it, so that we are without excuse for not understanding. It is a wonderful picture of grace that the master gives such an undeserved opportunity which raises his servants so high above their natural state.
