It is Nehemiah’s prayer and it is the prayer of ‘thy servants, who desire to fear thy name.’ That is a little clue that Nehemiah was not alone.
These are our concerns also: the Lord's work, reverence in the churches, obedience to God, and reaching the goal, the goal of witness, the goal of holiness. May we all reach the goal through life, and go through all the service of God with flying colours.
In our case it works like this: ‘Lord save my brother, or my sister, or my child, or my parent, or my work colleague, I will intercede for my work colleague; save him.’ But if it's a Nehemiah prayer, this is how it ends: ‘Save that person, or those people, and I am ready to be the instrument; I am ready to be the messenger; I am ready to be the one who has the task of mounting the witness.
