Proverbs 1:31 Commentary and Bible Study

When I seek something other than God, I become hooked on it. A glutton can eat and eat until he becomes an enormous size and he is not even enjoying it. If you make this world your god and serve it all your days, you will be filled with it. People pursue earthly riches and earthly security and get great wealth, but they are not happy in spite of all they have, and yet they still cannot give it up. Fame is another thing that people get hooked on. They have become celebrities perhaps fairly early in their lives, but now they are old and they still need the drug of public attention. They are filled with their own devices and yet they are sickened by being overfull.
