Two things are not fitting, not appropriate, but the second is worse. It is not fitting that a fool should be rewarded with pleasant things, with luxuries and items of delight, for foolishness ought to be repaid with what it deserves: loss, and the removal of what is good.
As the people of God we are being trained for heaven. We should think soberly about ourselves and not rush ahead to do tasks for which we are not yet ready. God does not put us straight into the highest place. He trains us. We think differently – I don’t have the opportunities my great talents deserve, and we blame our facilities or lack of opportunity. Scripture says, You haven’t mastered your present situation yet. The devil can even get us thinking that that we should be called to the ministry, when we still have problems as church members.
