Proverbs 2:19

This does not mean that anyone who yields to the world and temptation can never be saved; it is a picture, it is an illustration. But for the grace of God, they cannot return, that is what it means. We accept the grace of God, the wonderful grace of God and we are delivered. But the teaching is that once a human being yields to lawlessness and is prepared to do anything, so long as they enjoy it, there is no return from that position. You cannot rebuild a deep respect for truth and for standards, and for moral commandments, once a person has become utterly lawless, you cannot climb up that steep path once again, except by the saving power of God. So Solomon unfolds the nature of sin.
