As far as we are concerned subjectively, divine wisdom is a project for us and our Christian lives. We could call this section, the noble house.
We think of what life is, how we came to be here. We see it in the context of God, Almighty God, our Creator. We learn in the Scriptures about the fall of man and the whole plan of redemption and the purposes of God, past, present and future: the great scheme in the hand of God. We understand human nature, human conduct, what is right for us, the principles of God that guide us. But the world does understand, and we were all once worldlings, confused and muddled.
The government does not as a rule look at society and the affairs of state as a project, as a cohesive thing or a system. If there is a problem comes up such as London knife crime, then in the estimation of politicians, this is just an individual event, a phenomenon. They do not understand it is part of the whole: that mankind is fallen, and therefore this has come about. We see the media and we see the television, and every week that goes by we see some new outrage, some new horror. Public entertainment and television is covered with the great campaign to build an alternative morality. Biblical morality has got to go. We have got to be free to do as we like. And extremes of experimentation are publicised and advertised constantly. How is society building the house? They have no idea where this is going. They have no idea what they are doing. They have no idea of the consequences of all this. The old values are taken out, and pure experimentation takes its place. Professing to be wise, people have become fools. And yet some of these people are brilliant people.
