Here is one of these short miniature parables which really you need to look at carefully or you will pass right over it. The first part is easy – Wisdom is too high for a fool – he cannot be bothered to stretch for it, to reach out, to learn, to read, come to meetings sometimes, in order to add to his reservoir of knowledge in the things of God.
Well of course, we do not want to do that in the Christian life because the enemy of souls will take advantage of our ignorance and our folly. But sometimes it happens and people miss instruction. They are very haphazard in attendance. They do not ever read a book, or follow the Scriptures properly; they skip personal devotions. They are not asking anything in the gates. They do not have the guidance and the help of the elders. We need to learn early and enquire now before it happens, before those adversities strike us or that depression or whatever it might be.
