What is identified here as inappropriate is the failure to read the feelings of others and to understand how to respond to them in the right way, including to those in great distress. There is no indication that the one who sings is actually trying to cause further pain by provoking the grief-stricken, or in any way mocking their grief.
Let us study to make our words to be words that heal the broken-hearted, comfort the downcast, encourage the feint, advise the simple, teach the ignorant, correct the wayward, and in every way edify those around us with skill. We edify not for our own convenience but to genuinely help those around us. We must study the human heart and how it can be healed from its wounds and eh must learn from our own hearts and then do to others as we would have them do to us.
