The comparison is between a land given to transgression and a land blessed by the Lord. There is an asymmetry in the two sides.
We might apply this to a local church. God blesses his people when he gives them wise, honest, righteous and hard-working pastors, elders and deacons. There is stability in the church because their pastor is not a career man, intent on climbing some ladder of promotion. He is whole heartedly committed to the work God has given him in the place where God has led him. He has a strong sense of calling to the ministry, and loves the people of God, and sacrifices his time and labour for them for the Lord’s sake. The church flourishes because it worships sincerely, deepens in understanding, learns how to pray, and serves the Lord wholeheartedly.
