Proverbs 3:31 Commentary and Bible Study

The oppressor is a lawless man who sees the world before him and wonders what he can get out of it by any means. He is marked by this – that he is willing to go beyond the bounds that God has set in order to gain more for himself and at the expense of others. Clearly he does not fear God. He is equated with those who are difficult to deal with, who are abomination to the Lord. How fearful to have God as our enemy. How hopeless is our situation when we are at war with him, and surely all those who oppress their fellow human beings are at war with him. God has a secret, but who reveals their secrets, their precious closely-held truths to their enemies? Wisdom will never be obtained by those who turn God against them by their cruel treatment of others.
