Literally the Hebrew is observe. In all thy ways observe him, look to God, keep him in view, take account of him.
There are the three parts of a man and all three parts must be submitted together. Supposing I am under the false impression that wisdom is something in the mind. So I say, 'Well, to be wise, it just means I have got to be a great reader, I have just got to be a great student. It does not matter about my will. It does not matter about my feelings.’ Well, I have confused it actually with knowledge at once. You cannot be wise in the level of the mind only. You will never be wise because wisdom is an interaction of all three parts. Let us suppose that this man is faced by a very knotty situation, a very difficult situation, something he has got to discern. You cannot discern only with the mind, because to discern a situation, to know what really needs to be done, has got to involve a combination of your mind, your will, and your feelings. There is a lot of feeling and intuition involved in wisdom. You may intellectually know what needs to be done. On the other hand your judgment may be spoiled because you have got very little feeling about the thing, you look at it too coldly and objectively, you cannot see the subjective, the feelingful side, so you get it wrong. Or you may not act aright because your will may not conform.
