Your sin is public. Many others see what you have done, and they know that it was entirely unnecessary for you to fall in this way. You have brought deep shame on yourself. If you are a believer who has fallen into sin, then, yes, there may be recovery from backsliding, but you will be deprived of certain responsibilities in the house of God because there are some sins that mean that we had better be kept away from high service for the Lord, lest we fall again. The word ‘almost’ may just be our deliverance. We have come to our senses maybe just before we went over the edge. Thankfully God has awakened our consciences at the eleventh hour and we drew back with horror from what we were about to do. May it be so!
