Proverbs 6:29
Comments
What is so evil and so destructive to a man should not even to be thought about. Let all thought of this be utterly abhorrent. We must begin the battle against sin in the privacy of our own hearts and this requires complete honesty because no one else can see us but the Lord. ‘Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.’ God has set a boundary here and said, you shall not cross it. Why then should we think about crossing? Let a man consider what it will cost him to commit this sin and he will think again.Again the proverb warns us that there are inevitable consequences to sin, for it is the devil’s strategy to diminish the consequences in our minds of what we do, if only he can get us to cross the threshold.
