Then comes the main conclusive argument, ‘Now therefore listen to me, O ye children’, says wisdom. Be as children who will listen and learn and obey, for blessed – so happy is the Hebrew – are they that keep my ways.
We are to wait at wisdom’s door and wait on her even at the very posts of the door. Wisdom is something we must be concerned about every single day, not just now and then, not just in the crisis time, not just at the crossroads of life, but every day. We are to stop and ask ourselves, ‘What about wisdom and depth and discernment, how am I going to fare? Am I going to listen, am I going to seek the guidance of the Lord? How am I conducting myself? How are my decisions being made? How thoughtful have I been?’ It is something you should be concerned about constantly.
