Proverbs 8:9

Here is a word of encouragement. God's truth is straightforward and reasonable. God appeals to our minds and to our reason. He comes to us and he furnishes our minds with understanding. The course which we are embarking on in the Christian life, which is life-long, not 3 years; the course we are embarking on is actually not a difficult course, providing we are saved and providing we are sincere and earnest. These words, these truths, this wisdom of God is ‘plain to him that understandeth.’ It is self-attesting, it is so obviously the truth, it is so clear to us. Of course, if I am dabbling with worldly things, if I am trying to rush before I can walk, or any of these other problems, well, I shall find it difficult, mysterious. There are difficult elements, yes, but by and large, the course of wisdom is not hard for those who love it and follow diligently and conscientiously.
