That little aside seems to be indicating wisdom stating her position. The truth of God is not to be assessed on the basis of whether it has convinced all people. This is how the human mind sometimes thinks. Can I believe in the Bible, can I believe in Christianity, is it credible? Well I will decide on this basis: if it is not universally appreciated, if it has not convinced everybody, if it is not widely popular, then it cannot be correct, and I will not accept it. That is how the human mind thinks. The Bible comes at matters quite differently. Divine wisdom says it is a fact that if you start tampering with people's lives in spiritual and moral areas, and you tell them where they have gone wrong, and what they should be doing, they will be against you, and you will court nothing but derision and scorn. But the wisdom of God representing the love of God, and the tenderness of God, and the concern of God for human souls is going to do it anyway, and God is going to work in many hearts, and so wisdom is going to make these appeals, and make these calls, no matter what the cost, and in the full knowledge that vast numbers of people will hate her for it. So the Bible states the case, and wisdom states her position, saying in so many words, the wisdom of God is not after popularity, it is not after universal appreciation. The wisdom of God is after saving souls from their sin and from their eternal doom.
