Revelation 10:7

The mystery of God is about to be completed; the gospel age is to be closed. The book of Revelation receives its name from the fact that it is a disclosure of this mystery. The central mystery of the whole book is the scroll, which is now being unrolled. That scroll contains the entire plan of God, the glorious plan of redemption, by which the Lord’s people and the creation itself are redeemed from destruction. That mystery must have an end. By the end of the world, all the hidden things of God’s plan will have come to light. His perfect answer to the rebellion of the devil and to the sin of men will be seen. This is the great moment that the saints have prayed for. Their rejoice that their Father in heaven has devised a solution to the problem of evil, that he has not only restored the original glory of creation, but greatly enhanced its glory, and more than reversed the damage that Satan has tried to do to the cause of God.With the sounding of the seventh trumpet earth’s history will move to the point where all things prophesied in the Old Testament will be complete. God has in broad terms revealed the entire history of the world in advance. There are no major stages in God’s plan for the world which have been omitted from prophecy. This statement of the angel again shows how closely linked to the Old Testament prophets the book of Revelation is.But that seventh angel doesn’t sound the trumpet yet. It is about to sound, but there is something we have to be told before it sounds. We have to be given a view of what the church is doing on earth during these last five months, the last tribulation, Satan’s little season.
