That is exactly what we see throughout the history of the world: brilliant atheists who can marshal arguments and responses so quickly. They are clearly equipped with great agility of mind. They have great brains, and yet they believe in, and they say, such foolish things, because they are enshrouded by darkness and taken in by doctrines of demons.
I watched some time ago, one of the leading atheists and the most popular in the Western world, and in his ferocious anxiety to negate the fall of man and to criticise it he was holding forth on the goodness of man. The goodness of man! How blinded can a person be: to think that man is essentially good? Therefore, the thinking goes, if you allow him cannabis and just about anything else he craves, he will suddenly grow up and be responsible and say, ‘That’s not good for me. If you only had a permissive society and allowed all these things, men would be for the most part as good as gold, and you would cure all your problems.’ How foolish can brilliant men get? Because you see they oppose and attack the Lord and his people, and are their bitter enemies, and God just enshrouds them in the cloud of ignorance, or allows Satan to do it to them and give them the most preposterous ideas and views.
