Titus 3:15

‘All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.’ What a common closing for epistles, but when Paul utters it, he means it. ‘Grace be with you.’ The very next book of the Bible, letter to Philemon, ends, ‘The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.’ May grace be with you, and particularly with your spirit. What does it mean? May the kindness of God and the unearned favour of God be with you. This week and in the weeks ahead, in trials, in Christian service, tell it all to the Lord. Pray to him, make it known to him, and he will carry you through and give you strength, and you will see more of him in your personal devotions, and you will be close to him. Commit it to him. If you face some difficult trying task, commit it to him. The grace, the favour, the kindness of God, undeserved and free, will be with you. In learning from the Scripture, acknowledge your need, ask him to give you understanding, and he will work in your heart and in your spirit, and you will see all the more of the wonderful things of God. That is what we need. May the grace of God, the felt and proven kindness of the Lord, be with us and keep us as we live for him and pray to him. ‘The grace of Christ be with you all.’
