Zechariah 1:13
Comments
The Lord hears the prayer of the angel of the LORD and responds to it. His answer comes back to the angel and we are told that it consists of good words and comfortable words, comforting words, but what are those words? We learn about them from what the angel of the LORD says in the following verses up to verse 17. Zechariah’s vision gives us insight into what is happening all the time, as Christ prays on our behalf, and the Father answers with wonderful responses that are more than we could ask for.
Application
Even though our heavenly Father does not always act in the way that we would expect, he still desires to comfort us, and he knows what it takes to comfort us. If our hearts are right, then our comforts will come from knowing that God is ever mindful of his people, that he sees their sorrows and counts their tears in a bottle, and that when he does act it will be the perfect time. It will finally be a response that will amaze us at its comprehensiveness.
