If that is the correct explanation, that is a warning to us. If I live an unconsecrated life, an uncommitted life; if I maybe just worship once a week and scarcely mean that, and allow sins to arise once again in my life as a natural course, and succumb to spiritual coldness; if suddenly I pray for something, I need something, then don’t be surprised if there is no answer from the Lord. Do not be surprised if you are ignored. The people who would not return did not get an answer.
