The Lord, speaking through his prophet, says that glorious times are coming. There will be a much greater sincerity and genuineness among those who return from the exile in Babylon to rebuilding Jerusalem.
Shame leads to putting off of past sins, or else it is not real. It leads to repentance, and repentance brings relief as the soul is flooded with the realisation that God has found a way to put our sins as far from him as the east is from the west. There can be no continued shame when God himself can look upon us without condemning us. It is his eyes that bring shame to our hearts, when he looks at our unforgiven sin. But when we are justified by faith, our shame is removed forever.
