Concern was for security. They worked conscious that the Lord’s people have enemies who need to be defended against. Locks and doors are often mentioned. There is a security aspect to this work. Some had responsibility for plain sections of wall, and section of the wall assigned to others included the repair of a gate with its doors and locks and bars,
